7:00 PM

For grades 5th and up.

The Maker Club program is meant to introduce participants to a number of different technologies available at The Makery and in other makerspace environments. Participants will learn design with Inkscape (an open source program that works like Adobe Illustrator), RDWorks, laser cutting functionality and design, 3D printing basics, CNC basics and a touch of electronics. Each technology will introduce a new smaller project. The final project will involve two to three technologies. We will also use woodworking as needed, hand tools and artistic finishing techniques (painting, staining, collage, sculpture, etc.). This program is meant to introduce the rich environment of a maker space in preparation for an on-going Maker Club experience in which they can work on projects of their choice with expert guidance.

The class fee covers up to $25 of materials. There may be an extra fee for materials depending on the choice of final project. If an extra fee is necessary, we will check with parents and guardians before a project is approved.

CLASS DATES: 3/12, 3/19, 3/26, 4/2, 4/9, 4/23*

*No class 4/16
