We provide a variety of tools and the space for you to work on your self directed projects in a collaborative environment. Makery staff will be on hand to acquaint you with the space, troubleshoot machine issues, help determine job settings, and guide you in basic tool operation. If you require more in-depth training on a specific machine or design software, please attend one of our classes or certification sessions.

Must be 18+. All participants are required to sign a liability waiver before attending Open Workshop. Please visit to complete the waiver form prior to arrival.

Machine Usage

Certification is required for the operation of the laser cutter and CNC machines. Woodshop certification or a “Tool Test” during Open Workshop is required to use woodworking power tools. There is an additional fee for laser cutting, CNC milling, and 3D printing (see pricing below). Machines are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Upon arrival at Open Workshop, you can sign up for a block of time on our equipment. Please be aware that this is a community space and that others may be waiting to use machines and tools.

Safety & Comfort of Open Workshop Users

You will receive safety guidelines when you sign up for a session, please read guidelines carefully before participating in Open Workshop and please follow all posted procedures and safety rules while in attendance. The Workshop Manager will have full discretion and final say on how the workshop is being used. Please check in with the Workshop Manager before beginning a project to make sure the activities will work in the shared space.

Supplies and Materials

We will have some supplies available in a free area as well as supplies that you can purchase. All materials for the laser cutter must be either purchased from us or approved in advance. Please note that we do not cut chipboard or MDF on our laser and CNC user must provide their own milling bits. You may bring in your own finishing supplies as long as they are non-toxic, non-hazardous and do not produce odors that will be unpleasant for others.
