3D printing is manufacturing of the future, right here and now. 3D printing takes digital files and transforms them into real objects. In this class, you'll learn the foundations of coding and computer-aided design (CAD) principles. Using BlocksCAD, you'll code 3D models in a block-based editor. As you build on the introductory concepts, including loops, variables, and modules, you will be able to build unique, personalized, three-dimensional designs. This class can also accommodate students with prior BlocksCAD experience. Your instructor will print two designs over the course of the 8 weeks.
Key curriculum elements
● How to think computationally, organize and debug computer code
● How to create 3D shapes and text.
● How to manipulate these shapes with transforms like translation, rotation, scale.
● How to subtract shapes using difference.
