Treat yourself to an evening of beautiful music at The Makery with Tom and Rafael.
Enjoy a cold glass of sparkling wine and a mingle starting at 7:30. Music starts at approximately 8:00pm. Feel free to bring your own drink of choice to enjoy during the show.
Rafael Ornstein
Rafael Ornstein studied Jazz Theory with Bill Barron at Wesleyan Umiversity, and spent a summer studying at Berklee College of Music and the Naropa Institute of Boulder, Colorado. Locally he has performed with the Hot House 5 Jazz Quintet and with the Miguel Almestica in Carilan Jazz. Currently he plays with Blue Dog Jazz, frequently heard at the 3 Squares Restaurant in Needham. He enjoys playing piano and singing in jazz, blues, latin, rock, pop and New Orleans styles. He cites Bill Evans, Herbie Hancock, Eddie Palmieri, Dr. John and Ray Charles among his influences. Rafael and Tom recently performed together as part of a larger band for Brookline Porchfest.
Tom Marton
Tom has been playing music since hitting the road with his guitar in the mid-70s for extensive travelling. In addition to playing solo in clubs and on the streets, he has played with different bands in various locations, including San Francisco, LA, Sydney and Tokyo. Tom studied music for a year at the Musician’s Institute in LA, and has written over 40 songs. He enjoys playing a wide variety of popular music, and particularly loves singing and harmonizing. These days, in addition to having great fun playing with Rafael at the annual Brookline Porchfest, and occasional outings with other local players, he very much enjoys making music with his extended family, which now includes a number of very talented musicians!
