About The Event
Woodshop Certification introduces students to basic woodworking tools including, but not limited to, the Saw Stop, band saw, miter saw, and planer. The purpose of this certification is for participants to feel safe and confident in the woodshop using a variety of tools.
This class is appropriate for 18+
Instructors
Nick Anastasia
Nick has always been a tinkerer and a teacher, learning as much as possible and sharing that knowledge with others. Nick has a bachelor's degree in computer science and spent 7 years as a software engineer. He has been involved in the maker community at Artisan's Asylum in Somerville since 2011 and now helps run the bicycle shop there. Nick has built more than 15 custom chopper bicycles in all sorts of bizarre configurations and he regularly commutes on a bike that's over 5 ft tall, is covered in programmable LED lights and has an on board sound…
