The first ever arts festival celebrating immigration in Brookline. Interwoven: Craft, Story, Immigration will take place September 19-22, 2019.
Interwoven is a collaborative event featuring an exhibit and presentation from the Welcome Blanket organization, an immersive storytelling exhibition, Arrival VR, created by the Brookline Interactive Group, an informational session on Immigration Law presented by Del Olmo Law, and an evening of Suitcase Stories presented by the International Institute of New England. The weekend will wrap up with a community making event hosted by The Makery and Welcome Blanket.
Come together and learn about immigration, craftivism, and each other.

Music Performance: 7-7:30pm: Tao He
An Erhuist from China, Tao He graduated from the prestigious Central Conservatory of Music in Beijing. Before moving to Brookline, Tao played the Erhu in the Hong Kong Chinese Orchestra. Through the Erhu–a popular and prominent traditional Chinese instrument–Tao will present the beautiful and melodious folk music of China.

The Sasha Band, founded by Bandleader, Sasha Stern, hails from Boston, Connecticut, and New York. Their repertoire includes Russian, Ukrainian, Polish, and Jewish songs with a mix of folk music, pop, rock, soul, and funk.
