Policies and Procedures - IMPORTANT PLEASE READ

 

What to bring:

  • Snack and Lunch (refrigeration available). There will be a break time in the morning when the children can eat a snack. Lunch hour is from 12pm-1:00pm.

  • Water bottle labeled with name.

  • Clothes you don't mind getting messy.

  • Close-toed shoes.

 

 

Drop off/pick up policy:

  • Please drop off and pick up students at the front door located at 2 Sewall Avenue.

  • Program hours will start and end precisely as scheduled. Please do not drop off your child earlier or pick them up later than the hours you have registered for.

  • You can park along Sewall Avenue (metered parking after 8am) or Stearns Street (non-metered after 10am) and walk your child in/out.

* At check-in we will need you to provide the names and phone numbers of anyone who will be picking your child up for the day.

**For students old enough to sign in or out on their own, we need you to email written permission to team@brooklinemakery.com prior to the start of the program. These students must arrive and leave on time and our required sign in/out with a signature and time arrived or left.

  • Please make every effort to pick up student on-time. Prolonged lateness will result in additional fees.

 

Allergies:

  • We understand that there are many allergies and food intolerances. We ask that students wash hands before and after eating and that they don’t share food.

  • Please make sure you have communicated any allergies to The Makery and that any epi-pens, inhalers, etc. are clearly labeled with student name.

 

Code of Conduct - PLEASE READ WITH STUDENT

These guidelines were put in place in order to safely experience all that our space has to offer.

 

General Space:

  • No open-toed shoes.

  • Wear clothes you don’t mind getting messy.

  • Stay in the same space as your instructor unless directed to do otherwise.

  • Do not touch anything you have not been instructed to touch.

  • No food or open drinks in the workshop. You may have a water bottle in the workshop, but it must have a lid that closes.

  • Keep a calm body, and keep your body to yourself.

  • You are expected to arrive on time, and leave on time.

 

Clean-up:

  • If you use a brush or paint or paint palette, immediately wash when finished

  • Cover paint and glue after use.

  • Put lids on boxes and return them to the shelves where you found them.

  • You will be given time for clean up each day, please make sure your work area is neat and orderly.

  • If you aren’t sure where something goes, just ask!

 

Behavior Policy:

  • Keep a calm body. This means no rough housing, no pushing, and keeping hands to yourself.

  • Rolling desk chairs are a privilege, not a right. If you are spinning around and being distracted, you will be asked to move to a regular seat.

  • We are in a space with a lot of both dangerous and expensive equipment. If you are displaying behavior that could put yourself or others at risk, we reserve the right to contact a parent or guardian to come pick you up.

  • Continued Disruptive behavior that is making it difficult for instructors to teach or for other students to learn will not be tolerated. Multiple offenses may result in removal from the program without a refund.

 

 

CANCELLATION POLICY

Refunds minus 5% processing fee issued with written cancellation requests 30 days prior to the start date of the program. 50% minus 5% processing fee refunds issued up to two weeks prior to start date of the program.
